New coach Yaw Acheampong says he was excited to hear that he won the race to be the next Inter Allies coach and thank the Eleven Is To One family for having faith in him.

“I’m glad and thank the head of the club for choosing me,” he told the club’s website [www.interalliesfc.com].

“I felt very happy because Inter Allies is a very good club and I believe most coaches wanted to be in my shoes.”

His predecessor Herbert Addo who is now with Hearts of Oak had a remarkable first season with Inter Allies last season, joining the club after match day 7 with no points and lying bottom of league, completed the league 6th and runners-up in the FA Cup final.

Asked whether this feat will have pressure on him, this is what Yaw had to say: “No there is no pressure on me, I believe every coach has his own philosophy, so am also coming with mine and I hope it works.”

Coach claims he takes his players through mental and physical preparations in order to get what he wants from them so that targets set by himself or others could be met: “I prepare my players more mentally and physically so that they can perform the way I want, also I pick my matches one at a time, so I believe when I win matches then any targets expected of me can be met.”

He added: “Management promised to give me all the support and as at now they are doing a wonderful job. Also am enjoying the support of my assistant coach, the technical director and everybody is helping me to be on track.”

“I want fans of Inter Allies to expect good football from us. We had a successful two-week trial session, I want to see if we can add new talents to the squad.”

 

Yaw Acheampong also gave us a little knowledge on his contract and believes all will go well: “I signed a two-year contract and hopefully management and myself will adhere to the contract.”
