Inter Allies continued to work through pre-season after sharing the spoils against Heart of Lions in a friendly match on a wetSaturday afternoon.
The University Ghana – Legon Ajax Park hosted the exciting encounter where Inter Allies once again exhibited a fine display for the decent fans who were around.
Coach Yaw Acheampong continued to give Fredrick Boateng another starting role upfront as well as Ibrahim Alhassan on the left back, Gockel Ahortor was also handed a role in the midfield with Lawson Sabah and George Asamoah.
Lions fielded equally a good side with the likes of Isaac Osae, Ben Acheampong, John Tuffour, Haminu Dramani, Mozart Adjetey, Isaac Quansah among others.
It had rained earlier but the playing field was in the right condition for the match which entertained the decent crowd.
In a game of few clear-cut chances, Lions had a gentle start but we produced the first goal attempt when Fredrick Boateng’s 15th minute strike was saved comfortably by Mozart Adjetey.
Neither side particularly troubled opposition goalkeeper but Inter Allies had the best of possession until the end of the first half.
Samuel Yeboah for Lions almost opened the scoring after the recess but his powerful 25 yards shot went narrowly wide.
Yaw Acheampong utilised five of his outfield substitutes with Issouf Kabore, Edward Adjaklo, Alan Shearer, Pius Awuah Baffour, Sherrif Mohammed coming on for Fredrick Yamoah, Gockel Ahortor, Fredrick Boateng, Dauda Dioup and Talla Ndiaye respectively.
The game was used largely as an opportunity to test new players for both sides as the entertaining match finished in a goalless draw.
On thursday, Inter Allies defeated First Division side Tudu Mighty Jets by a lone goal at the Teshie Military Barracks.
Prosper Kassim returned from the Black Satellites camp and from the bench scored the only goal of the match.
Sulley Mohammed also had his unofficial debut, he also came off the bench and rattled the crossbar in the 75th minute.
So #IAFC have done the double over Mighty Jets, they lost 2-0 in Tema last week and we’ve beaten them again today 1-0 in Teshie.
