Inter Allies bounced back to winning ways with a comfortable 2-0 victory over New Edubiase at the Tema Sports Stadium on Wednesday afternoon.

It was game five of the 2014/15 First Capital Plus Premier League, striker Sheriff Deo Mohammed  scored in each half to ensure the team won their second game of the season.

Coach Paa Kwesi handed younger David Onu his debut, Wahab Ackwei who played as the holding midfielder in Kumasi, started at right back. Owusu Ansah and Ibrahim Alhassan were ruled out due to injury.

Osei Kwame retained his spot between the sticks, Fredrick Boateng and Asamoah George were left for the bench as the team lined up in a 4-3-3 attacking formation.

The head coach had earlier told www.interalliesfc.com that his team should find the right balance between the attackers to win the game.

The match started in a tensed fashion as both sides were just places above the drop zone. The Eleven Is To One closed the game at early stages and took the match to the visitors asking a lot of questions.

Sheriff Deo Mohammed had a run over Edubiase defense his final shot was blocked for corner kick. Prosper Kassim took the corner but Baba Mensah headed inches wide to create the first chance for the hosts.

Paa Kwesi Fabin’s men were growing into the game and were given the opportunity to take the lead. Lord Ofosuhene and Wahab Ackwei in a combination set Niare Benogo through on the right wing, he sent a long cross to beat Edubiase goalkeeper but Yamoah who was not aware headed narrowly wide.

Moments later, Lord Ofosuhene sprinted pass Anabila Abdul Latif brought the former down and was booked for the offense.

Prosper Kassim stepped up and launched the free kick into the box, Sheriff Deo Mohammed  jumped high and headed home the opener.

Osei Kwame who was virtually on holiday in his posts, was called to duty in the 22nd minute as he pulled a magical save to deny the visitors the opener.

Inter Allies took a well-deserved lead into the break.

The Eleven Is To One continued to threaten from the recess and it didn’t take long for them to get the second.

Sheriff Deo Mohammed once again jumped high and in a similar manner to the first, headed home to grab his brace.

As we poured more men forward, Edubiase became more of a threat on the break, that ensured them hit the side posts twice in the dying embers of the game.

Paa Kwesi Fabin’s men had defended with connection, organization and held on to victory. A third goal would have added gloss to the scoreline but the team had done more than enough.

Inter Allies now lie 9th on the league log with 7 points after 5 games and will travel to Kpando to face Heart of Lions on Saturday afternoon.
