Inter Allies registered first defeat of the season at the Carl Reindorf Park in Dansoman with a slim loss, 2-1 to Liberty Professionals.

The encounter cleared match day two fixture of the Ghana Premier League in a very tensed and end-to-end battle.

Frederick Boateng’s second half header was only a consolation after Liberty struck twice in the first half, courtesy a Kingsley Kissi howler and Laftif Blessing goal.

Changes were made to the side that beat Aduana Stars 2-0 in the league’s opener at the Tema Sports Stadium.

Kingsley Kissi, Kingsley Nnamdi, Paul Abanga, Prince Barrie, Ismeal Ntefuni, and Michael Touray had their debuts on Sunday.

Coming from a defeat from the first game, the home side were more purposeful and asked questions from the early minutes.

Unfortunately for the ‘Eleven Is To One’ who were not settled, Liberty scored twice in a period of 10 minutes into the game.

Cephas Doku met a corner kick with a strong header just for Kingsley Kissi to fumble with it until it entered his own net.

Latif Blessing also headed from a free-kick to double their lead just minutes after going up.

They dominated the entire half but it was a total different game in the second half as Inter Allies raised their play.

Frederick Boateng who came on late in the first half, added bite to the attack with power and speed. He stole his marker and headed home the consolation in the 58th minute.

Despite controlling the half, Herbert Addo’s men couldn’t capitalize on possession to add to the tally, until the end of the game.

Inter Allies will welcome Dreams FC to the Tema Stadium for week three clash in the next game.
