Having faith in the youth system has been the hallmark of Inter Allies, excelling youngsters get promotion from the youth side to the main team annually.
Accra Youth SC features in the Greater Accra Division 2 league and has been one of the top teams in the lower tier league.
Last season they topped their group and qualified for the middle league, same group as eventual winners Vision FC and participated in this year’s MTN FA Cup.
Three players from this exciting team made the cut and gained promotion to the first team, Inter Allies FC.
Abdul Halik-Hudu, Haruna Seidu and Ismeal Ntefuni, following the club’s rich culture of promoting players from the youth team highly impressed after excelling with Accra Youth SC.
Between them are 10 appearances after the first round with the first team in the 2015/16 Ghana Premier League.
1. ABDUL HALIK HUDU: The young midfielder who is the captain of Ghana U-17 (Black Starlets) had to wait till match day 7 to breakthrough in the country’s top-flight. He made his senior debut against Bechem United in front of the home fans in a 4-0 win. Due to national assignments, the little magician has made 5 league appearances starting 4 of them.
2. ISMEAL NTEFUNI: He is an attacking midfielder, has pace and plays through the flanks and can also play along all the forward lines. A great boost for a youngster, Ismeal got the opportunity to make his debut on match day 2 against Liberty Professionals at the Karl Reindolf Park. Even though it was a defeat on the day, the chap was one of the players who sparkled and got plaudits. He has now had 3 appearances and working around the clock to get more.
3. HARUNA SEIDU: A tireless forward player with a lot of pace and energy, Haruna promises to be a very good player with time to come. He came off the bench against Liberty to make his debut. He has played two games so far starting one. He has a lot more to give however, he’s working tirelessly to get to his maximum best.
The youth side has consistently produced players for the senior side from the likes of Gershon Koffie in the MLS with New England Revolution, Leicester City’s Daniel Amartey, 2013 U20 World Cup Bronze Medalist Clifford Aboagye, Lawson Sabah, Baba Mensah, Lord Ofosuhene, Joseph Aidoo, Prosper Kasim, Patrick Kpozo who are currently plying their trade in Europe.
The current crop of first team players have Osei Kwame, George Asamoah, Eliasu Fuseini, Ibrahim Alhassan, Frederick Opoku Yamoah among the lots passing through the youth system.
