Inter Allies returned to winning ways with a hard fought slender 1-0 win over West Africa Football Academy at the Tema Sports Stadium on Wednesday in match day 20 league fixture.
Striker Frederick Boateng scored his 7th goal of the season in the dying minutes of the exciting match to ensure that the ‘Eleven Is To One’ walked away with the maximum points.
The tireless forward returned from missing the previous league game to start upfront with Isaac Osae, Gockel Ahortor also returned to the set up as well as Enoch Adu and Evans Mensah.
It was a compact and a difficult defense to break as the visitors paraded a very resolute back force to nullify all attacks.
It took the ‘Eleven Is To One’ 18 minutes to effect a real attack, Frederick Yamoah launched a cross from the left and Isaac Osae headed straight at the woodwork.
Jimmy Corbblah’s boys went closer to the opener, the ball was a the back of the net from Isaac Osae’s head after Gockel Ahortor’s long drive was parried, however it was ruled out for offside in the dying embers of the first half.
The second half was a bit more difficult for the hosts, as attempts to break the deadlock went futile. And when everyone thought the game was going to end in a draw, Inter Allies scored.
Frederick Boateng headed home from close range in added time to win the match after Prince Baffoe had forced a header through on goal which hit the crossbar.
