Inter Allies recorded their first away win of the 2015/16 Ghana Premier League season with a 1-0 victory over Dreams FC in match day 28 fixture at the ‘Theatre of Dreams’ on a cloudy Sunday afternoon in Dawu.
Striker Frederick Boateng’s second half goal on the hour mark was all Inter Allies needed to grab this vital away win after Kwame Baah had earlier saved Abekiu Ainooson’s penalty kick, just two minutes before Boateng’s goal.
Coach Jimmy Corbblah made two changes to the side that beat New Edubiase 4-0 in the previous match, Paul Abanga and Sheriff Deo Mohammed started from the bench, Frederick Yamoah and Frederick Boateng returned to the starting lineup.
Most likely and as expected, Dreams FC were the better side in the early minutes of the game; they threw all their arsenals at Inter Allies making it difficult for them to settle. However, the ‘Eleven Is T One’ was very solid at the back.
Ropapa Mensah and Frederick Boateng had the better of Dreams FC’s defense any time Inter Allies attacked. In what looked like a ding-dong affair, the midfield was mostly the baffle field, Gockel Ahortor and Abdul-Halik Hudu had a very busy day.
Very little goal scoring opportunities fell the way of both side as they went to the recess settling at 0-0. Inter Allies returned from the break a very spirited side and were slightly ahead. Despite playing very in the second, Dreams FC had the very piece of good news.
Emmanuel Nettey tripped his marker in the 58th minute and Dreams FC were awarded a penalty. Abeiku Ainooson stepped up and missed the opportunity to send his team in front; Kwame Baah made himself big and palmed the kick away to keep Inter Allies in the game.
Two minutes later, Ibrahim Alhassan put Ropapa Mensah through on the flanks; the latter then made a teasing pass to Frederick Boateng to slot home his 8th goal of the season. The ‘Eleven Is One’ held on until the final whistle to clinch themselves their first away win of the season.
