Match Report : Cedar Stars Lose 4-1 to Thunder AFC

The Forever Green lads exhibited great determination in their week 19 league fixture of the 2023/2024 Greater Accra Regional FA Division two league against Thunder AFC at the Alajo Astro Turf, despite the match ending 4-1 in favour of the home side.

Thunder AFC got off to a quick start, scoring in the 5th minute of the first half. However, our boys did not back down and came back strong in the second half, stringing together quality passes and applying pressure in search of an equalizer.

Our efforts were nearly rewarded with a goal early in the second half, but Thunder AFC capitalized on a corner kick to extend their lead in the 48th minute and again added to their tally in the 53rd minute, making it 3-1.

Unfazed, the boys continued to push forward, showcasing their attacking capabilities. Our persistence paid off in the 84th minute when Theophilus Fianko netted a consolation goal.

However, a lapse in concentration two minutes later allowed Thunder AFC to add another goal and secure the win.

Despite creating numerous scoring opportunities, the lads were not able to capitalize. The team will look to build on these positives in their upcoming matches.
