Inter Allies were beaten 1-0 by Ashanti Gold in a Premier League clash at the Len Clay stadium in Obuasi on Sunday, but coach Burton Wilson Asare believes his side could have walked away with all three points or at least a point.
The ‘Eleven Is To One’ came into the match looking like they intended to win, whilst it took the home side and defending champions 78 minutes to break a resolute Inter Allies defence.
Inter Allies grabbed possession after going down and increased the team’s confidence from then on, creating several chances but failed to capitalize on that for the equalizer.
Speaking after the match, the coach was in a sad mood in the post-match news conference after his side played well but failed to get a point from the game.
“It was a very good game generally, we did our best and played well we made a little mistake and paid for it, that’s how cruel football can be sometimes.”
“Overall, I think we were a bit above Ashgold and since they had the necessary goal, what else can you say.”
Inter Allies will hope to bounce to winning ways with midweek clash against WAFA at the Tema Sports Stadium.
