Striker Abdul Fatawu Safiu insists he is happy that he scored the only goal that took Inter Allies to the FA Cup Final for the first time.
The tireless striker’s goal in the second half ensured they posted a 1-0 win over Feyenoord and he expressed his delight in for achieving that.
“I’m happy with the goal I scored, we had a very tough game against Feyenoord they’re good and played very well giving us little space to operate,” he told www.interalliesfc.com
He added: “We had to work extra harder and thankfully Yemoah sent that cross for me to score, it was a nice cross I must say.
“You see, it’s a great feeling getting the only that helped my team to reach the FA Cup Semi final for the first time, it’s a good feeling and I give all the praise to the Almighty Allah.”
The former Black Satellites (Ghana U20) forward has scored seven goals (5 league goals and 2 in the FA Cup) after returning from his loan spell at Vimmerby IF in Sweden in January.
His timely goals have taken the Reds from the drop zone as the team prepare to stay in the top flight with three more games left to clear.
He hopes his fine form continues in the remaining games for the season.
“We play Hearts next, definitely it will be a very difficult match but I want to score more goals to see Inter Allies beat the drop, let’s wait and see what happens.”
