Inter Allies opened the 2014/15 First Capital Plus Premier League with a comfortable 2-0 win over Medeama SC at the Tema Sports Stadium on Sunday 18th January.

Goals from Lord Ofosuhene and Niare Benogo in each half helped the Eleven Is To One to sink the Tarkwa base side.

Going into the game coach Paa Kwesi Fabin who was having his debut match for the club handed striker Frederick Boateng his first official game, youngster Wahab Ackwei paired with Joseph Aidoo in place of Baba Mensah, who had travelled with the Black Meteors for a national assignment.

The Eleven Is To One piled a lot of pressure right from kickoff and were irresistible in the opening embers of the game.

It was Lord Ofosuhene who made early incursion. The speed winger made an impressive run to meet a tailored measured pass from Lawson Sabah but his effort was blasted off target, which had already been flagged offside.

Seven minutes later, Niare Benogo after winning a ball from Hans Kwofie sent a ‘delicious’ pass to Lawson Sabah, the latter then in a similar manner sent a through pass to Lord Ofosuhene, he slotted home the opener with a right foot high shot to the top corner.

After half an hour, Patrick Kpozo surged through the left flank but his final delivery was blocked for a corner kick. Prosper Kassim sent his the corner kick but Fredrick Boateng on his debut headed agonising wide.

Inter Allies took crop of proceedings and dominated the rest of the first half and opted for content containment till the break.

The second half started brightly with the home fans cheering their team. Every touch of the ball by the Eleven Is To One was greeted with huge applauds encouraging the players to surge on for victory.

Sulley Mohammed was also handed his official debut when he came on for Fredrick Boateng on the 54th minute, it was a double substitution so Gockel Ahortor replaced Prosper Kassim.

Sulley Mohammed on the 69th minute flew through the defence of Medeama with a lighting speed and was brought down for a foul just in front of Medeama’s penalty area.

Niare Benogo stepped up, took a direct low drive to beat Muntari Tagoe to double Inter Allies lead.

Coach Paa Kwesi Fabin content with what he had seen, brought youngster Evans Mensah on for Fredrick Yamoah to hold on to the lead.

The boys gripped on to the lead until of the end of the match to open the new season on a winning note.

This had been a tough assignment for the Eleven Is To One but Paa Kwesi Fabin’s men made it look so easy.
