Inter Allies suffered a second defeat of the season succumbing 1-0 to champions Asante Kotoko at the Kumasi Baba Yara Sports stadium on Friday to mark match day Four fixture.

Substitute Dauda Mohammed scored the priceless goal of the match on the 59th minute that ensured that Allies’ trip to the champions yielded no results.

Striker Sheriff Mohammed was given his first start of the season, Sulley Mohammed also started for the first time after coming from the bench twice in the first two games, ahead of Frederick Boateng.

Defender Wahab Ackwei also came into the line up in a different position as he sat just in front of the defense.

The match set off with the Eleven Is To One dominating the early minutes of play, they looked well composed and settled down very quickly.

It was quite an extraordinary game with both sides making intentions clear in the early embers of the game.

Great possessive game resulted in a first real chance for Inter Allies, striker Sheriff Mohammed who was starting his first game of the season had a one-on-one opportunity with Ofori Antwi, but the striker’s shot was palmed away by the goalkeeper.

The hosts founded their momentum and were attacking from all angles, Amed Toure squandered a glorious chance after Sarfo Gyamfi blasted the ball from 25 yards, Osei Kwame failed to grab first time.

For the Kotoko fans it was all too reminiscent of the frustrating 2-2 stalemate against Hasaacas at the same venue on match day two, as they were held to a goalless draw by Inter Allies at half time.

Wahab Ackwei who was excelling at his new role as the man sitting in front of the defense, intercepted numerous dangerous moves as the Red Army attacked at will.

Osei Kwame did well to parry Sarfo Gyamfi’s fierce snapshot and also blocked a hit from Kojo Poku  in a time of five minutes.

But the Eleven Is To One were guilty of over-elaboration where Ibrahim Alhassan failed to clear the ball one time, instead tried to over turn Dauda and slipped, Inter Allies paid dearly.

Dauda Mohammed got the better play of the ball after Ibrahim Alhassan  slipped and fired to the top corner to grant the only goal of the game.

Sheriff Mohammed hit the down posts six minutes after going down, Inter Allies produced many more attacks but were not enough to find the back of the net.

The Eleven Is To One looked understandably stunned when the final whistle confirmed the second defeat if the season.

The team now lie 11th on the league table with four points after four games and will host New Edubiase at the Tema Sports stadium on Wednesday.
