Inter Allies bounced back to winning ways with a 1-0 win over Tema Youth at the El Wak Stadium on Monday afternoon to complete match week 8.
Defender Wahab Ackwei grabbed his first league goal for Inter Allies and the only goal of the game with a 45th minute powerful header.
Coach Prince Owusu made six changes to the side that drew 1-1 with Great Olympics in midweek with Issahaku Zakari getting his debut in place of Hashmin Musah.
Wahab Ackwei returned from injury and played in center back, shifting Paul Abanga to right back. Isaac Twum also started in the middle with Prince Baffoe on the flanks.
Martin Antwi was at the right side of attack leaving Samuel Mensah Konney and Frederick Boateng upfront.
It was a slow start for both sides as settling in time to control possession became a problem for the two teams.
However, Inter Allies found their rhythm getting to the latter part of the first half. Antwi Kwame Amoako and Prince Baffoe kept probing.
In added time of the half, Antwi Kwame Amoako sent a teasing corner kick in, Wahab Ackwei jumped the highest in the box and headed in the opener nicely.
The goal on the brink of half time stood as a solitary goal for the entire duration and to put Allies back on winning track despite several attempts for a second.
The victory pushes Inter Allies from 15th on the league table to 12th. Wahab Ackwei who scored his first Premier League goal was named the man-of-the-match.
