Inter Allies clinched first away win of the season with a 1-0 win over Accra Great Olympics at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Sheriff Deo Mohammed’s 30 minute header happened to be the only goal of the game as the Eleven Is To One once again exhibited an impressive display.
Coach Paa Kwesi made a single change to the starting line up that beat B.A. United at the Tema Sports Stadium, Lord Ofosuhene replaced Johnson Oppong Owusu.
Ropapa Mensah on his debut call up made the bench with Issah Yakubu also returning to the side.
The hosts made the first incursion after the referee whistled for the game to begin with their intentions made.
Coming from a comfortable 3-0 win over league champions Asante Kotoko in the Independence Cup at the same venue, the hosts were full of confidence to continue their fine form.
They started asking questions very early in the game making it difficult for Inter Allies to settle down, however the defensive partnership of Wahab Ackwei and Baba Mensah were very solid as they stood firm to block Olympics from scoring.
Niare Benogo went narrowly wide just before the 10th minute mark after he nearly notched home from a Lord Ofosuhene’s cross.
After several minutes of attacking play, Inter Allies scored the opener after half an hour gone.
Lord Ofosuhene sneaked through the defense of Olympics but his shot was blocked for corner, Fredrick Yamoah launched the cross in for lanky striker Sheriff Deo Mohammed to head home his 6th goal of the season.
They held on to the slender lead until the mandatory first half break.
Just like the first half, Olympics came from the recess very wild searching for the equaliser.
Paa Kwesi Fabin’s men had goalkeeper Osei Kwame to thank after he single handedly pulled so many vital saves to deny Olympics a chance of coming into the game.
Fredrick Yamoah and in-form striker Sheriff Mohammed also went very close to doubling the lead but both forwards fluffed their chances.
Inter Allies fought tirelessly to defend their solitary goal to grab first away win of the season.
The Eleven Is To One have now moved from 4th to 3rd on the league log with 17 points from 10 games.
