Match Report – Karela United 1-0 Inter Allies – Aiyinase: Inter Allies suffer first defeat of the season:
Inter Allies FC suffered first defeat of the season to Karela United FC at the CAM Park in Aiyinase on Sunday.
A 75th minute Diwiasie Taylor penalty goal was what the home side needed to win the match to officially open their ultramodern Astro Turf field.
Henrik Lehm made four changes to the side that drew goalless with Dreams FC at the Accra Sports Stadium in the league opener last week.
Richard Acquaah, Ivan Kpeglo, Collins Kudjoe and Kingsley Braye were handed starting roles with Paul Abanga, Chauncy Freeman and Michael Kporvi benched.
From the start of the game, the home side sent a lot of missiles to our defense, however our defenders settled quickly controlled the back.
Our goalkeeper Rashid Seidu stood out in the first half and made the difference with two fantastic saves to deny the Karela United the opener.
The first half was tough for both sides and weren’t separated.
Allies return from the recess with more purpose upfront but couldn’t get a goal.
Karela pushed hard for the opener and got a a penalty in the 74th minute.
Diwiasie Taylor sent Rashid Seidu the wrong the way to get the only goal of the match.
Allies pushed for the equaliser but Karela held firm and handed us our first defeat of the season.
