Inter Allies recorded first defeat of the season after losing 2-0 to Liberty Professionals on Sunday afternoon at the Carl Reindorf Park in Dansoman.
Two quick goals from Bernard Arthur and Gerard Arkson late in the match day two fixture ensured Liberty continued their dominance over the ‘Eleven Is To One’ in Dansoman.
Coach Prince Owusu made three changes to the side that drew goalless with Hearts of Oak on opening day last week.
Frederick Boateng came in for Isaac Osae, Antwi Kwame Amoako started in midfield ahead of Isaac Twum, Martin Antwi also played ahead of Samuel Bekoe.
It was a bright start for Inter Allies as Frederick Boateng and Ropapa Mensah troubled the Liberty defenders from the blast of the referee’s whistle.
Ropapa Mensah failed to find the back of the net after beating his marker in the box, his final effort was blocked and cleared, halfway through the half.
Kwame Baah was injured in the 40th minute after colliding with a Liberty attacker, he was later replaced by new signing Kotei Blankon.
The half time ended goalless, but it was a different ball game in the second half as Liberty were very superior in terms of creating chances and attempts on goal.
After several minutes of pushing and knocking on the door, Liberty final got their reward. Substitute Bernard Arthur headed home the opener in the 82nd minute.
Gerard Arkson two minutes later doubled the lead with a 25-yard volley to seal victory for the scientific soccer lads.
Inter Allies will now travel to Tarkwa on Wednesday to face Medeama SC.
