Sekondi Hasaacas were held to a 1-1 draw by a well-organised Inter Allies side at the Sekondi Sports Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
The exciting match was the last game of the 2015/16 Ghana Premier League first round and it produced some thrilling moments.
Suleman Ibrahim headed home the opener from a corner in the 16th minute before Gockel Ahortor slotted home from a free kick in the 37th minute.
Head coach Jimmy Corbblah maintained the same starting line up that won 3-1 in midweek against Berekum Chelsea at the Tema Sports Stadium.
Hasaacas had proven difficult for Jimmy Corbblah’s side to break down throughout the early embers of the first half.
The continuous search for the opening goal came too early for them 16 minutes into the game. Ibrahim Suleman was very quick to head home from a corner kick leaving Inter Allies defence with no chance.
Inter Allies hit straight back after some period of good work, Sheriff Deo Mohammed and Frederick Boateng were very tough customers for the hosts.
Sheriff was brought down on the edge of the Hasaacas box, Gockel Ahortor stepped up and scored a very beautiful free kick hitting it hard down and low to the corner of the goalkeeper, his 4th league goal this season.
The second half was more thrilling and exciting as both sides got opportunities to add to the tally but failed to do so.
In the end, the goals from the first half decided the result for the entire duration as the “Eleven Is To One” finished the first round with 15 points and 13th on the league table.
