Inter Allies lost 3-1 away at the Tema Sports Stadium to Tema Youth in the match week 23 fixture of the 2016/17 Ghana Premier League season on Sunday.
Abdul Nassiru Hamzah’s opener was only a consolation as the hosts came from a goal down to win after displaying a spirited performance.
Fresh from two successive defeats, Tema Youth were stunned in the 38th minute as Hamza Abdul Nasiru opened the scoring for the visitors against the run of play, registering his 3rd goal of the season.
Having twice been denied by the superb Kwame Baah in post for Inter Allies, Francis Adjetey was in the right place at the right time to tuck in the equaliser on the stroke of half-time to register his first goal of the season.
His parity ensured Tema Youth went into recess with high hopes as the second half can go either way.
Just after the interval, a point-blank rebound saw James Akaminko double Tema Youth’s lead 58 minutes in before Joseph Painstil summed it all up with a stunning volley to hand Tema Youth a sweet revenge over Inter Allies with 27 minutes left on the clock.
Inter Allies dropped from the 5th spot to the 7th while Tema Youth now occupies the 12th position.
Inter Allies sit at home to lock horns with relegation consumed Great Olympics at the El-Wak Park on match week 24 of the Ghana Premier League.
Painstil was awarded his 6th M V P award of the season.
